Project Description

Innovative electrics for a Supported Accommodation Scheme

This project, on behalf of the main contractor Rowlinson Constructions Ltd, was to design, install and commission the entire electric package for a new complex of supported apartment and bedsit accommodation for autistic persons.  An extremely technical challenge, our design brief included general power and lighting, together with home automation, a sensory room, plus special lighting concepts including ‘sunrise’ lighting and automated blinds to meet the individual sensory needs of the residents who represent a broad range of the autistic spectrum.  We also designed and installed a sophisticated security system incorporating staff and resident panic alarms.  The entire project, from design to handover, was completed to time and budget.

What Client’s Say

Numerous elements of the electrical design were bespoke and unique to the project, some of which had never been adopted on a scheme before. They provided a valuable link between client, contractor and their supply chain.

The holistic approach to design, construction and communication adopted by the professional team at ARC Electric on this project contributed to the success of the scheme which the Winner of the Residential award at this year’s RICS awards.
